In that cold water add fabric softener this will help make the wig soft and sleek also make sure that it is a mild softner then add a mild detergent to the water.
put your wig into the water and leave there over night this will give it enough time to work on the wig.
Take it out of the water in the morning then dry it with a towel and finally blow dry but dont comb your hair when its wet cause this can damage the hair.
