How To Paint Press-On Nails

To determine which size fits each finger, try on several nail sizes

You’ll probably need to try on a few sizes and shapes of press-on nails before painting them to locate ones that will fit over each of your fingernails. To ensure a snug fit once applied, try to choose nails that closely resemble the curvature and contour of your nails.

To prevent confusion, arrange the appropriate sizes in the order you intend to use them.
You should be able to pick a size that fits each of your nails because most press-on nails come in a pack of several shapes and sizes.

To save yourself sometime later, you might wish to jot down the size that you’re using for each finger on the press-on nail chart that some brands include.

Apply a slender strip of tape to the rear of every nail

Cut a thin enough piece of tape with scissors so that it fits over the back of the press-on nails. Next, fold the tape edges inside so that they overlap and stick together, with the sticky side facing out. Press the tape rolls onto the back of each press-on nail after turning it over so the underside is facing up.
This will enable you to apply the nails to the cotton swabs by creating a little adhesive roll.
Rather than using tape, you can firmly press a small ball of adhesive tack onto the back of every nail.

Place a cotton swab’s end on the tape that is affixed to the nails

To ensure that the cotton swab and nail are firmly attached, apply pressure to the tape. Next, turn each nail over so that you can begin painting. When utilizing adhesive tack rather than tape, you can press the toothpick’s end into the tack rather than using a cotton swab.

Choose your favourite polish colour and apply it to each nail

With your non-dominant hand, hold one of the cotton swabs so that the press-on nail’s top is facing up. Next, apply your preferred nail polish colour to the nail using your dominant hand.

Applying the polish uniformly and preventing clumps can be achieved by painting the middle of the nail from the back to the front and the sides from the back to the front.

As each nail dries, place it aside

After applying nail polish all the way around, carefully set one of the nails aside on a level surface to dry. Continue doing this until all of the nails have been painted with nail polish. Try doing nail art to produce some entertaining, intriguing designs if you want to become artistic with your polish. If any nail polish drips off the press-on nails, cover the flat area with a paper towel to protect it.

If you would like the polish colour to be more opaque, apply a second coat

On artificial nails, nail polish is typically far more opaque than on natural nails, so you might not need a second layer.

After two minutes, you can paint each nail with another layer if you’d like the colour to be more opaque.
Once the second coat has been applied, set each nail aside on a level, shaded surface to dry.

To preserve the colour of the press-on nails, use a top-coat polish

After two minutes, apply a coat of top-coat polish to each nail if you’d like an additional layer of defence. Before attaching the press-on nails to your natural nails, place each nail off to the side to fully dry after applying the top coat.

Give the nails 20 to 60 minutes to dry. To ensure that the polish is fully set, you should probably let it dry for the entire 60 minutes if you use numerous layers.
