The same formulas that aid in producing a cosmetic appearance that lasts all day can also result in some bothersome stains on clothes. Unless you know the correct products and techniques to treat the stains, oils, and dyes from liquid and powder foundation, mascara, lipstick, blush, and other cosmetics can be difficult to remove from garments. How To Get Makeup Out Of Clothes
Eliminate Any Extra Without Rubbing

- To give the cleaner enough time to begin severing the fabric’s bond with the stain, set it alone for at least ten to fifteen minutes.
- To remove the stain from the back, hold the stained part inside out while facing a stream of hot water that is now running.
Wash the Garment
- Verify the clothing’s care label and use the warmest water suggested for the material while washing it.
- Before putting the garments in the dryer, use your usual detergent and make sure there are no stains left on them. Proceed to the following step if the stain is still noticeable.
Get Out Tough Makeup Stains
- It will require additional treatment if the stain wasn’t eliminated in the initial cleaning round, wasn’t treated right away, or was put through the dryer before treatment.
- As directed on the packaging, combine cool water and an oxygen-based bleach solution. Stir in enough solution to completely immerse the clothing.
- Put the object in the water and let it soak for a minimum of eight hours.
After emptying the solution, examine the stain. - Use a new oxygen bleach and water solution and repeat the steps if there are still remnants.
- Once the stain is removed, wash as normal.
How to Remove Stains from Mascara on Clothes
Wax, color, and oil combine to form mascara stains. It is most difficult to remove the oily or waxy component, thus before washing, it needs to be treated with a high-quality laundry detergent or stain remover. Use the same procedures as above to clean mascara stains and remove foundation stains.
An oil-free eye makeup remover is one solution that helps with mascara spots. Using a cotton swab, dab some of the remover onto the stain and rub it in with your fingertips. After letting it sit for at least fifteen minutes, rinse it off with hot water and wash the clothing according to the care label’s directions.
How to Get Lipstick Stains Out of Clothes
Combination stains of oil, wax, and dye can also be caused by lip balms, glosses, and lipstick. Make sure to remove any solids first; avoid pressing the lipstick more into the fabric. The same procedures advised for foundation stains will give you the best chance of eliminating lipstick stains.
Additionally, you may try the following treatments:
- After soaking a fresh white handkerchief with rubbing alcohol, dab the spot. As the lipstick comes off the fabric, keep going to a fresh spot on the material. After that, wash the item as normal.
- Using a white cloth and distilled white vinegar, blot the stain. To prevent the stain from spreading, keep moving to a clean section of the material as the color transfers. Hand wash the item as normal.
