Umidigi’s entry into the tough smartphone market is the Bison. It is an option for enthusiasts who want a smartphone that can withstand extreme weather. In my opinion, it offers one of the greatest-looking designs on tough smartphones. This is a strong entry by Umidigi into a market dominated by companies like Ulefone, which offers products like the Armor 8 5G, Armor X8, and Armor 9E.
The Bison is advertised as a tough smartphone, which suggests that we might anticipate ratings for water and dust resistance. With an IP68 designation for water and dust protection, it demonstrates that it’s no pushover. According to this rating, it can withstand a 30-minute submersion in 1.5 meters of water.
Still focusing on the qualities that support its designation as a tough smartphone. Additionally, it has an IP69k rating, indicating that it can withstand water pressure of 100 bar and a temperature of 80 °C. Last but not least, the bison guarantees 1.5m drop protection. Which, in my opinion, covers the most typical mobile phone mishaps.
In conclusion, those who buy this smartphone as a hobby have little to worry about in terms of fragility. Because it doesn’t have a delicate chassis and has an IP68 and IP69k rating, little mishaps won’t cause it to break. The Umidigi Bison’s display is a 6.3-inch FHD screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The Gorilla Glass protection on this display adds to its durability.
The Cameras
