The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra ehas the designation all-around package that makes it the most powerful Xiaomi smartphone ever introduced. It’s a follow-up to the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G, which was unveiled earlier this year. Furthermore, the Mi 10 Ultra defies the existing quo of already-released thousand-dollar flagships by providing enthusiasts with highly capable smartphone hardware at a lower cost.
“Sophisticated appearance” was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the Mi 10 Ultra. You can tell Xiaomi is serious about business just by looking at its chassis. This design suggests that you’re in for a lot of smartphone performance.
For starters, the Mi 10 ultra’s build quality includes gorilla glass 6 on the back, gorilla glass 5 on the front, and aluminium on the frame. All of this adds up to a really high-end smartphone design.
On the front panel, there’s a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340, 386 PPI, and a 120Hz refresh rate, which is significantly higher than the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G and Mi 10 Pro 5G’s 90Hz refresh rate.
On the back, there’s a camera module that’s easily one of the most noticeable on top devices. This camera module is connected to a four-camera vertical array with an LED flash. It may not feature the trending large 108MP camera like the aforementioned, but it does take a less gimmicky approach to offer enthusiasts features that will prove useful in daily dealings.
Aside from the prominent camera module, another eye-catcher on the Mi 10 ultra is the transparent clear glass rear shell, which serves as a type of briefing on how the internal components are organized.
Please note, however, that this clear glass back covering is an alternative. This smartphone is also available in Obsidian Black and mercury silver, both of which are opaque coverings.
Cameras
The Xiaomi Ultra improves on the Mi 10 Pro’s cameras with capabilities that put it in a position to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 ultra. It may not have the aforementioned big 108MP camera, but it takes a less gimmicky approach to offer aficionados features that will be beneficial in everyday dealings.
For starters, there’s a quad-camera arrangement on the back, with a 48MP primary camera and an f/1.9 aperture. There’s also a 48MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and 120x hybrid zoom, which beats out the Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra 5G’s 100x hybrid zoom and the Huawei P40 Pro’s 50x hybrid zoom.
A 20MP ultrawide camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 128 field of view is one of the other cameras in its quad rear camera arrangement. Finally, there’s a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and an aperture of f/2.0. This camera was created for portrait photography as well as to maintain photos clear when using the periscope telephoto lens.
The Mi 10 Ultra can record video at a maximum resolution of 8k at 24 frames per second. The 48MP primary camera and the 48MP periscope camera are both capable of shooting in 8k. Other video recording modes include 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240/960fps, and 4K@30/60fps.
A single 20MP camera with an aperture of f/2.3 is in charge of selfies. 1080p@30fps and 720p@120fps are two video recording modes.
