Samsung Galaxy Note 20 – Full Phone Specifications

The direct successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. For enthusiasts who cannot afford the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, it is also a more cheap option. As a result, it provides a package without some of the ultra’s notable features. The key components of a high-performance Android smartphone are still present, though.

The final variant of the Galaxy Note series designed for convenient note-taking on smartphones was the Galaxy Note 20 Series. The most recent smartphone that can fit in that space is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20

Display and Design

The design and styling of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 are a little more understated than those of the Note 20 ultra. In comparison to the 6.9-inch display on the ultra, our first difference is a somewhat smaller chassis that houses a smaller 6.7-inch display.

This display has a camera cutout that is more obvious and a bezel that is a little thicker. With a maximum screen resolution of 1080 x 2400, it is built on a super AMOLED panel.

The display still has a 60Hz refresh rate, which is significantly lower than the 120Hz refresh rates of the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20 ultra. Honourable mentions go to the OnePlus 8 Pro, which costs the same but has a better resolution of 1440 x 3168 and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

When we turn to the back, we see that there isn’t a camera bump, which was noticeable on the Note 20 ultra due to the periscope camera features. The Samsung branding can be found here, indicating that this is a Samsung smartphone.

A $1000 Plastic-back Smartphone

The design of the Galaxy Note 20 deviates somewhat from that of earlier note smartphones. Because of the inferior construction, the pricing is lower. Samsung used a glossy plastic this year that they call Glasstic substance. The weight was affected by using plastic in place of glass. Note 20 weighs roughly 192g, whereas the Note 20 Ultra is heavier at 208g.

Surprisingly, despite having a plastic bank, Note 20 still supports wireless charging. a phenomenon that doesn’t happen very often with modern cellphones. We have gorilla glass 5 up front, which is less expensive than the glass on Note 10 and Note 20 Ultra. In essence, cutting costs is everything.

An Improved S-Pen

In order to significantly speed up the registration of inputs, Samsung made changes to the S-latency Pen this year. The S-Pen on Note 20 has a 26ms latency, which is less than half of the 42ms latency on prior generations’ devices. However, the Note 20 Ultra taps the latency down to 9ms, resulting in even quicker input registration.

In addition to latency, the S-Pen cavity was moved from the right to the left. An alteration that enthusiasts who intend to upgrade from their current Galaxy Note cellphones may need to make.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Sharp Cameras

A cheaper train also struck the Note 20’s camera section. It’s not serious, though. It boasts a number of capable cameras that are comparable to those on a flagship smartphone.

The Note 20 extreme has a periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, whilst Note 20 has a main camera with a 12MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, and a 64MP telephoto camera with an aperture of f/2.0 that enables a 3x hybrid optical zoom.

A 12MP ultrawide camera with a 120 field of view and an aperture of f/2.2 makes up the third member of the trio. The maximum video resolution for this department’s back cameras is 8K@24fps. Additional video modes include 720p@960fps, 4K@30/60fps, and 1080p@30/60/240fps.

A single 10MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture controls selfies. Both 4K@30/60fps and 1080p@30fps footage may be captured with this camera.

Hardware and Software

The majority of the features that make the Note ultra 20 a very speedy smartphone are present in the Note 20, as was already noted in the introduction.

The top-tier Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, which is only offered to users in the United States, is the most notable of these characteristics. The Exynos 990 CPU will have to suffice for enthusiasts in other areas of the world.

The Adreno 650 GPU will be available to enthusiasts in the USA, while the Mali-G77 MP11 GPU will be available in other areas of the world. The 8GB RAM/256GB built-in storage combination is what is constant. The 128GB storage option will, however, be available to fans in the US.

A non-removable 4300mAh Li-ion battery is also included in the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. This is marginally smaller than the Note 20 ultra’s 4500mAh battery. On the software side, the Android 10 operating system is running the One UI 2.5 user interface.

Connectivity

Dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC are included in the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. A USB Type-C port is also included for charging and data transfer.

Please take note that enthusiasts in the UK, USA, and the majority of other countries will be receiving the Note 20’s, 5G-only model. However, Australian fans will have the choice of a 4G-only model.
