The attention of the management of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has been drawn to a purported notice of resumption of academic activities for the 2019/2020 academic session, requesting students to resume lectures on Monday, January 11, 2021. The Management of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has trashed the circulating misinformation about the resumption date for The 2019/2020 academic session. The information notes that, all academic activities should commence starting from Monday, January 11, 2021. It also advises that lectures should begin from January 11, 2021. The secretary to the senate has denied notice noting that it was obviously written, signed poorly therefore, there was no way such information could come from his office. I wish to further state that neither management nor the senate has taken any decision on the date of the resumption of academic activities for the 2019/2020 session. He also stressed that, the school management and senate has not specify a date for the commencement of the 2019/2020 academic activities. I, therefore, on behalf of the Vice-chancellor, urge FUTO students and the general public to disregard such and await proper notice from the appropriate authority in due course. The Vice-Cancelloer therefore advises all students of FUTO to disregard such news. When the management is announces the school resumption date, it would be made available on the right platforms.
