The Ulefone Armor 9E is a follow-up to the Ulefone Armor 9 that was previously released. It boasts nearly the same chassis in terms of both appearance and toughness, as well as similar hardware. It has many of the same standout characteristics as the previous model, but it does away with the thermal imaging camera to make room for a new camera that allows for a different camera arrangement.
Design and Display
As indicated in the introduction, the Armor 9E and the Amor 9 have very identical chassis designs. As a result, the chances of you being able to tell the two smartphones apart simply by looking at them are small. A rugged chassis encases the smartphone electronics within, with the same specifications as the previous model. The specifications indicate that it can withstand extreme circumstances.
It has an IP68 / IP69k classification, which means it can withstand drops from 1.2 meters and be submerged in water for 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters. Furthermore, it is dust-resistant. The display was not exempt from the efforts taken to make it more durable. Its 6.3-inch IPS LCD display is fortified with scratch-resistant glass and an oleophobic coating, similar to what we saw on the previous model.
The Cameras
The camera section is the dividing line between the two smartphones. The Ulefone Armor 9E will mostly appeal to enthusiasts who prefer a standard camera setup to a thermal imaging camera. While the primary camera remains the same 64MP, the lack of the thermal imaging camera allows for additional secondary camera arrangement.
An 8MP ultrawide camera with a FOV of 99.9° and an aperture of f/2.4 is onboard. A 2MP depth camera and a 2MP secondary camera are also included. The back camera can record video in 4k, 1080p, 720p, and 480p at 30 frames per second.
The same single 8MP camera with an aperture of f/2.2 is used for selfies. It can record video in 1080p, 720p, and 480p at 30 frames per second. Furthermore, the Endorscope camera found on the standard Ulefone 9 is retained on the Ulefone Armor 9E. This means you have support for a camera that lets you look into tiny spaces.
