The world of social media is constantly shifting and evolving, but that doesn’t mean businesses should ignore it. In fact, even though the new features and functions of these sites change frequently, their importance to marketing hasn’t diminished at all.
Businesses that understand how to leverage social media marketing see an average boost in their return on investment of anywhere from 200 to 2500 percent.
That’s a huge range, but it proves that investing time and resources into a strong social media presence is worth your while as a company. But which network is the most essential for your business? Without question, it’s Facebook.
As of this writing, there are over 2 billion users on Facebook and more than half of them log in every day. It has become the single most-used social networking site in the world – not just because it’s so popular, but also because it is so useful for businesses. Here are 21 tips for making your Facebook business page irresistible:
1. Have a Professional Looking Cover Image
Your cover image is the first thing your customers and potential customers see every time they log into your page. Your goal with this image should be to draw people in, spark their curiosity, and leave them wanting more.
The ideal cover image should be visually appealing, high-resolution, and have a clear, concise message about your business. Facebook recommends uploading images that are 1,200 pixels wide by 328 pixels tall, but if you are using images from another source, make sure their resolution is high enough to avoid pixelation
2. Write Compelling, Unique Content
The world has changed since the early days of social media marketing. These days, you don’t just have to post pictures of your products or write about your business. Instead, you have to have a compelling and unique narrative about your business and its story.
The challenge for businesses is that it is difficult to create this narrative without sounding formulaic or generic.
For example, if you own a bakery, do you start your posts with daily specials? Specials are a great way to promote your products and increase sales, but they aren’t going to tell a compelling story. Instead, you want to write posts that are fun and creative with a sprinkle of your company’s personality.
3. Use High-Quality Videos
Facebook is rolling out a new feature that allows businesses to turn their written posts into videos. This is a great feature for businesses, but it is important to understand that what works for written content won’t necessarily work for videos.
In order to get the most out of this new feature, keep your videos short and to the point. You want to engage your viewers and make them want to watch more, but you don’t want to overwhelm them with too much information. If you are trying to decide whether to post written content or video, consider the topic and the audience.
4. Show Off Your Employees
One of the best ways to create a personal connection with your customers is to feature the people behind your brand. This is most effective if you can feature your employees because you want customers to see your employees as people, not as representatives of your brand.
You can do this by posting updates about your employees in your Facebook posts, creating a series of videos that allows your audience to “meet” them, or creating a “Week at the Office” type of series that shares what your employees do every day.
You can also ask employees to submit posts for you to publish on their behalf. This allows them to have a voice on social media and shows customers that you are encouraging your team to share their experiences and personalities.
5. Ask for Customer Feedback
This one might seem like a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised just how many businesses don’t take advantage of the opportunity to ask their customers for feedback. When you ask customers for feedback, you are opening a line of communication between you and your customers that allows you to become more empathetic toward their needs and desires.
For example, if a customer posts a complaint on your page, you can respond with an apology and request their feedback so that you can avoid making the same mistakes in the future. You can also ask customers for suggestions, ideas, and advice. It shows that you are interested in what they have to say and encourages your customers to engage with your page.
6. Run Contest and Giveaways
Another great way to foster engagement with your customers is to host a contest or giveaway. Obviously, you want to be careful about what you offer as prizes. If it is something central to your business, you might as well not have a contest at all.
Instead, offer your customers something that is fun, but not essential to your business. When you post information about your contest or giveaway, be sure to include the rules and conditions of the event. This way, you avoid any confusion or misunderstandings that could lead to future problems.
7. Be Visible on Facebook Through Events and Groups
Events and groups on Facebook provide a space for people to gather together and discuss topics that interest them. To find relevant events and groups to participate in, start by searching “events” and “groups” in the Facebook search bar. It is important to choose events and groups that fit your brand.
If you are a bakery, don’t join a group dedicated to vegan baking. Instead, look for groups related to baking and desserts in general. You can also create your own events and groups and invite customers to join.

This is a great way to foster interaction and build a sense of community among your followers. It is also an excellent way to generate leads and promote your business.
8. Make sure your Facebook page is connected to your ad campaigns
A lot of businesses have trouble with Facebook ads because they don’t know where to start or what to do next. The best way to make sure your ads are properly targeting the right audiences and generating the best results possible is to link them to your business page.
If you have already created your business page, this process is simple and straightforward. Simply go to your ad manager, select your business page from the drop-down menu, and click “connect page.”
You can also create a new campaign link and use it to link your ad to your page. This allows you to track your ad performance and see if there is anything you need to change.
9. Leverage Facebook’s built-in advertising tools
Facebook’s ad platform is a robust and sophisticated marketing tool. It allows businesses to target their ideal customers and reach a broader audience than they ever could with posts and links alone. You can use these tools to host a sale, promote new products, or create brand awareness.
Depending on your ad campaign goals, you can even combine these goals. For example, if you want to promote your new line of vegan products, you can use Facebook’s advanced targeting options to narrow your audience down to vegans.
You can also use various promotional tools to increase your ad engagement. For example, you can include an image in your ad that links back to your page so that users can “like” your page without having to leave the ad.
10. Show, Don’t Tell
If you want to attract new customers and keep the ones you have happy, you need to talk to them. But you can’t just tell them what you do and who you are – you need to show them. For example, if you sell kitchen appliances, you don’t want to just write on your page that you have an exclusive line of cutting-edge toasters.
You want to show your customers exactly what you mean with photographs and videos. When people visit your page, they expect to see content that tells them everything they need to know.
They don’t want to have to click on links to go to other pages in your website to find out what you have to offer. Instead, they want to be able to scroll down to find exactly what they’re looking for.
11. Keep It Short and Sweet
The same goes for your content. Nobody wants to read a novel on your page. However, that doesn’t mean you should be short on information. You just want to make sure that everything you post is short and to the point.
For example, if you’re offering a sale on one of your products, then you should write just enough to let your customers know when and where they can get the deal. You don’s have to include how many units are available or how many stores you’re offering it in. In fact, you shouldn’t.

Instead, you want to give just enough information to get your customers excited about your offer and prompt them to take action. Once you have their attention, you can direct them to other parts of your page for more information.
12. Go Behind the Scenes
Something that ties into keeping it short and sweet is going behind the scenes. Many businesses have processes and practices that are fascinating to people and can really drive up interest in your brand.
For example, if you own an appliance store, you can take your customers behind the scenes and show them how you design and develop your products. You can also let them see how your store is run, from the delivery process to the people who work there.
13. Be Transparent
It’s important to be transparent on your page so that your customers know they can trust you. You can do this by offering useful content that isn’t necessarily related to your products, like how-to instructions on maintaining your home. You can also share the news and milestones in your company, like hiring new employees or expanding your operations.
14. Show Off Your Team
For many businesses, their employees are the backbone of their operation. They are the ones who work with customers daily, they are the ones who create the products and services you sell, and they are the ones who make your company successful.
For many companies, this is their best selling point, so why not showcase it? You can highlight your employees on your page by posting their pictures, information about them, and their biographies. This gives your customers another reason to trust you and feel confident in your products and services.
15. Keep Track of What Works
One of the best things about Facebook is that you can track the results of everything you post and see what works best and what doesn’t. By keeping track of the kinds of posts your customers respond to, you can create a social media strategy that really resonates with them.
By keeping track of your posts and the results of each one, you can see what your customers like and what they don’t. This will give you valuable insight into what they want and how they want to be approached.
16. Be Visible on Facebook Through Events and Groups
One of the best ways to get noticed on Facebook is to be present in the many different events and groups that exist on the site. This can be done either by creating your own event or joining an existing one that is relevant to your business.
For example, if you sell baby products, you can create an event around parenting and pregnancy. You can also join groups that are related to your industry or area of expertise, and participate in discussions.
By being visible in groups and events, you gain another form of visibility, you get access to a new audience, and you have the opportunity to show off your expertise.
17. Build a responsive website
As you keep scrolling down the Facebook homepage, you’ll come to your website link. This doesn’t necessarily take you to your website, though. Instead, it takes you to a “bad” version of your website that isn’t very appealing or user-friendly. This is your chance to change that.
Build a website that is both responsive and mobile-friendly. This makes it easy for customers to navigate and find what they’re looking for. In addition to making your website easy to use, you’ll also want to make sure it’s optimized for search engines so that customers can find you there, too.
18. Invest in Facebook ads
Facebook ads are a great way to push your business forward and attract new customers. With ads, you can put your products in front of the customers you want and make sure they see them.
Facebook ads have been used by major brands like Ford, Coca-Cola, and even small businesses to generate leads and sales without much effort at all. However, not all companies see an ROI from ads.
That’s because many don’t know what they’re doing. For example, you might think you should create an ad that tells your customers about your product. However, that’s not what they’re looking for.
What they want are solutions to their problems. You can increase your click-through rate and your conversion rate by making sure your ads are targeted correctly.
19. Give your audience what they want
You can attract customers with ads, but you can keep them coming back for more by giving them what they want. You can do this by leveraging the power of your Facebook polls and surveys.
By creating polls and asking questions about your product or service, you can find out what your customers want and give it to them. You can also use surveys to find out what your customers really think about you. This way, you can collect valuable data and feedback that will help you do even better.
20. Share your story
In the end, people don’t buy from your company because they want to buy a product. They buy from you because they want to share your story. They want to be part of your community and to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
In order to keep your customers coming back and recommending you to their friends, you need to make sure they know who you are and where you came from. You need to let them in on what makes your business special.
Do this by creating an About page on your Facebook page and posting inspiring stories as well as milestones and achievements throughout your journey as a company.
21. Get creative
Finally, you want to get creative with your posts. You can’t just keep doing the same old thing, or your customers will get bored. Instead, you need to mix things up and try something new. You can do this by posting different types of content from time to time, like videos, images, and GIFs.
You can also try posting different times of day and different days of the week to see what works best for your audience. These are just a few ways that you can get creative with your posts and make them more interesting for your customers.
Conclusion
Even though social media platforms are constantly evolving and changing, their importance to marketing has not diminished. In fact, investing time and resources into a strong social media presence is worth your while as a company.
