The Hot 12 Play is the successor to the Hot 11 Play from Infinix. This phone, along with the Infinix Hot 12, was the first Infinix phone to come with Android 12 pre-installed. The Infinix Hot 12 Play comes with a few improvements over its predecessor, the most significant of which is the conversion from MicroUSB to USB Type C. You also get the extended RAM option, which allows you to add an extra 3GB of memory to the standard 4GB RAM for a more fluid experience.
The Infinix Hot 12 Play is available in Racing Black, Champaign Gold, Horizon Blue, or Daylight Green with an all-plastic shell. On the back, there are two cameras and a fingerprint sensor. An Infinity-O cutout houses the front camera.
The display on this Infinix Hot phone appears to be identical to that on the normal edition. The resolution of the 6.82-inch IPS display is 720 x 1612 pixels. As part of the standard edition, the display has a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz.
This is fantastic because you get the same display for a lower price. The high refresh rate implies a better viewing or gaming experience, while the high touch sampling rate is beneficial to gamers.
The Cameras
While the Infinix Hot 12 Play appears to have the same display as the normal edition, it is lacking in the photography department. The Play version has two rear cameras compared to the standard model’s three.
On the back, there’s a 13-megapixel dual AI camera with quad-LED flash. The camera can record full HD films as well as slow-motion videos at 120 frames per second. In comparison, the ordinary edition renders SloMo at 240 frames per second. A front-facing camera with an aperture of 8 megapixels is included for selfies.
