When wet, some fabrics, such as rayon, shrink or stretch, whereas modal fabric keeps its shape and may be machine-washed and dried.
Because of its stronger fibres and lower surface friction, modal shrinks 50% less than cotton and tends to pill less. The same washing instructions that apply to cotton or linen also apply to clothing made of this material.

Modal is a semi-synthetic kind of rayon, similar to viscose but created from beech tree pulp instead of synthetic materials. It is used to create domestic goods like bed sheets and towels as well as clothing items like pyjamas and underwear.
What is modal
Fabric made of modal can be knit or woven. It has a smooth, shiny sheen, is incredibly soft, drapes wonderfully, and resists wrinkling. Because of their silky texture, the fibres are frequently combined with cotton, elastane, wool, and other fibres.
Modal is cool to the touch and is both absorbent and breathable. The fibres readily absorb and hold dye, producing rich, bright colours with no dye bleed after cleaning.
How To Wash Modal Clothes
If necessary, put modal items in a mesh bag
Put your delicate modal clothing in a mesh laundry bag before washing it. If not, place the clothing in the washing machine without delay.
Choose the cycle and the water temperature
Use the cold water setting and the gentle cycle on the washing machine.
Tumble-Dry
Give each item of clothing a thorough shake as you take it out of the washer to help get rid of wrinkles. To prevent wrinkles, the modal should be dried at a temperature between low and medium-high, and the items should be removed from the dryer slightly damp.
Steam, iron, hang, or fold
If taken straight out of the dryer and folded or hung, knitted modal fabrics are resistant to wrinkles.
For a fresh appearance, woven modal textiles like cotton typically require some ironing. The wrinkles in your modal clothing can also be removed by steaming.
