Facebook Marketplace – Buying and selling in my neighborhood with a local community

People interact on Facebook, and in recent years, more people have used Facebook to connect in a different way: buying and selling with one another. This activity began on Facebook Groups and has now developed significantly.

Every month, over 450 million people, ranging from local families to collectors all around the world, visit buy and sell groups.

To help individuals establish more of these connections, we’re launching Marketplace today, a simple way to find, buy, and sell products with individuals in your neighborhood. Marketplace makes it simple to discover new items you’ll enjoy, as well as find a new home for items you’re ready to part with. We’ll be adding new features and settings to make this the best experience possible for everyone.

Simply hit the shop symbol at the bottom of the Facebook app to get to Marketplace and start browsing.

Find Items for Sale in Your Area

The Marketplace opens with photos of products for sale by people in your area. To find something specific, use the search bar at the top of the page and sort your results by location, category, or price.

Adjust the region you’re looking in with the built-in location tool, or go to a different city entirely.

When you come across something you like, touch on the image to see further information from the seller, such as a product description, the seller’s name and profile photo, and their geographical location. You can also save the item so that you can locate it later.

Have you made up your mind? To express your interest and make an offer, send the seller a direct message through Marketplace. You and the vendor can work out the details in any way you want after that. Payment and delivery of Marketplace items are not made possible by Facebook.

In Just a Few Steps, You Can List Your Items for Sale

It’s just as simple to sell anything on Marketplace as it is to look for one. Simply put:

  1. Take a photo of your item, or add it from your camera roll
  2. Enter a product name, description and price
  3. Confirm your location and select a category
  4. Post

Anyone searching in your area can now find your item and contact you if they wish to purchase it. You can also choose to simultaneously post to Marketplace and a specific buy and sell group.

Visit the Your Items section of Marketplace to keep track of all of your current and previous transactions. You can see all of your saved items, as well as any products you’ve listed for sale and any messages you’ve sent to other people.

There are currently four countries in which we operate, with more to follow.
Marketplace will be available on the Facebook app for iPhone and Android in the coming days to everyone over the age of 18 in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

In the coming months, we’ll continue to expand to new countries and make Marketplace available on Facebook’s desktop version.

That is it on Facebook Marketplace – Buying and selling in my neighborhood with a local community. I hope this article was helpful. Kindly share!!!
