We’ll share some of our favorite tools and give you some insight on the future of email marketing so you can stay ahead of the game and send emails that get opened and read.
The basics
Email marketing is a powerful tool for any business, but it’s important to make sure your emails are working. With all the different email providers and programs available, it can be difficult to know how to get started.
However, there are some basic things that you should keep in mind when designing your email marketing campaign.
# Make sure your content is relevant
The most successful email marketers have found one thing in common: they only send content that is relevant to their audience. Consumers want to receive information from companies when it relates specifically to them or their needs.
If you take a look at a popular magazine like Forbes, you’ll see that every article has an ad next to it for a product or service related to the topic of the article. If you want people to open and read your emails, make sure they have an interest in the content you include in each message– or there will be no point in sending it out.
# Get them hooked on your brand
An effective email marketing campaign will establish your company as a trusted name in its industry, which will lead consumers back through your site and onto your products and services.
This means that when consumers sign up for your newsletter or promotions list, they are giving you permission to market directly with them– so remember this when sending out messages!
It’s more time-consuming than using social media ads or digital advertising methods like Google AdWords because it requires some manual labor on behalf of the user (i.e.,
Email marketing tools for beginners
Sending an email campaign is a great way to start your marketing engine, but before you can do that, you need to choose the right tools.
The best email marketing software for beginners includes: Mailchimp, Aweber, and ConvertKit. These three tools offer everything you need to send beautiful emails and create incredible landing pages.
Mailchimp
Mailchimp is at the forefront of email marketing—we’ve been designing and sending billions of emails a day for more than a decade. We think of ourselves as experts in creating campaigns that generate more opens, clicks, and conversions.
Mailchimp makes it easy to create an account and get started. You can use templates or build your own look with our drag-and-drop editor. We’ll also recommend some templates for you to get started with.
ConvertKit
One of the most popular tools for sending email campaigns today is a platform called ConvertKit. This tool does a lot, so if you’re looking to start a new campaign or send out an existing one, this is a good option.
It offers templates that are easy to customize and integrates with many other platforms. You can even use it to segment your list and target specific audiences with personalized emails.
Why choose one over the other?
Email marketing and social media seem to be at odds with one another. One is old and outdated, while the other is new and hip. But which one should you invest in?
The answer depends on your business goals. Email marketing will get you better results if you’re selling a product or service to an existing group of customers, while social media tools are best suited for reaching new audiences.
For example, if your goal is to grow your email list, then email marketing will be more effective than social media advertising. However, if your goal is to increase brand awareness among new people, then social media advertising would be more effective.
It’s worth noting that it can be difficult to track conversions or sales from a Facebook ad campaign because it’s not as precise as email marketing; however, the tradeoff is increased brand awareness.
How to stay ahead of the game
Email marketing is evolving at a rapid pace. It used to be that the goal was simply to get people to open their emails. Nowadays, you’ve got to make sure they click through and read your email, too.

Luckily, there are many tools available to help you stay ahead of the game. One of our favorite tools is Boomerang for Gmail – an app that allows you to schedule follow-up messages and reminders for prospects who haven’t opened or replied to your emails.
You can also use this tool to schedule messages in advance so that they’ll go out on specific days (or even at certain times) automatically, which is perfect if you want your emails sent out on different days of the week.
You can also use Sniply – a tool that allows you to add calls-to-action (CTAs) such as “click here” or “learn more” in exchange for a shortened URL for Twitter and Facebook – when sharing links in your email newsletter campaigns.
This way, when someone clicks on the link, they will be taken directly where they want with one click instead of having them search through your website themselves and find the information they were looking for.
Here are some other tips we recommend:
- Make email marketing fun by sending periodic newsletters with interesting content
- Include social media share buttons in your emails
- Monitor engagement rates and segment customers based on demographic trends
The future of email marketing
Email marketing has come a long way since it was first introduced. The industry has gotten smarter and marketers are now able to track everything the user does, the time they spend on each webpage, and what they’ve clicked. This allows for greater personalization in emails that will increase the likelihood of higher open rates and engagement.
Emails that are personalized with imagery or data that is relevant to the recipient are more likely to be opened. Personalized emails show your customers you care about them by providing content specific to their needs.
Emails have also transitioned from being purely transactional to being more conversational. Marketers are using tools like chatbots to answer questions for customers who have questions while browsing their site or reaching out through social media channels.
Email marketing has become interactive in order to keep up with consumer expectations.
Email Marketing Trends for 2026
We did some research and came up with the six trends we think will shape the future of email marketing.
- The use of GIFs in email will increase by 27%
- Emails sent after 4pm are less likely to be opened, so it’s best to send them between 8am and noon
- Email subject lines should be shorter than 50 characters for optimal open rate
- Personalization is key to get more opens and clicks
- It’s best not to include links in your emails since this makes them spammy, but including content that links out can improve your click rates
- There is a shift from “push” marketing to “pull” marketing as users opt-in for updates rather than waiting for brands to contact them
The Future of Email Marketing Is Here
Email marketing is an essential part of any business’s marketing strategy. Given how many people use email, it can be a powerful tool for driving traffic back to your website and increasing brand awareness.
The future of email marketing is here-and it’s exciting! You can send emails that get opened and read by following some simple guidelines. An example would be to make your subject line clear and concise.
By doing this, you are showing the person opening the message that you are professional and confident in what you are sending them. And make sure to keep the content short and engaging so that the reader will want to read more.
By following these tips, you can have your emails opened and read more often, which will help drive traffic back to your site.
How To Stay Ahead of The Game
It’s not enough to simply hope that your customers will see your email. You can’t afford to spend on blasts out to your email list and only hope they respond. By making an effort with the design, content, and frequency of your emails, you can make it more likely that customers will open and read them.
- Design: Keep it simple! Choose one central theme for your emails and stick to it. If you make it too cluttered, people won’t know what to focus on.
- Content: Make sure you have a compelling headline or subject line before getting into the body of the email. People are busy and don’t always have time to go through everything in detail so make sure your subject line is catchy enough to get them interested!
- Frequency: To avoid being seen as spam, limit how often you send out emails. The best way to figure this out is by testing different frequencies with a smaller group of people then expanding from there. Experiment until you find a perfect balance between delivering high-quality content without bombarding them with too many emails every day!
How To Succeed With Email Marketing
The first thing you need to know is that email marketing can take a lot of time, but it’s worth the effort. The key to being successful with email marketing is to start small and grow your list. You should also focus on quality over quantity.
One of our favorite tools for quickly building an email list is Mailchimp. Mailchimp provides templates for newsletters, autoresponder series, and ad campaigns that are customizable for your business needs. It’s also free up to 2000 subscribers.
We recommend setting up autoresponder sequences so that every time someone subscribes to your list, they will receive a sequence of emails containing content related to the topic they subscribed to.
This way you can provide customers with updates about products or services they are interested in without having to manually send each one individually. We also recommend sending out customer surveys periodically so you can stay on top of their interests and know what kind of offers will interest them most.
Online tools are great because it saves you the hassle of printing things out which means less paper waste!
What are the trends?
As marketers, we need to stay ahead of the trends in order to get ahead of our competition. The best way to do so is by being on top of what’s new in the industry and how it relates to email marketing.
For instance, one trend we’re seeing is that brands are using automation more than ever before. And with the recent introduction of GDPR, there has been a rise in customers asking for permission to be contacted through email for offers and promotions…
How do I stay ahead of the trends?
The best way to stay ahead of the trends is to stay informed. You can do this by reading blogs and articles on the subject, following well-known industry figures on social media, and reading industry reports.
We recommend subscribing to email newsletters like our own Marketing Insider newsletter to keep up with marketing trends. It’ll also help if you’re subscribed to our blog for more marketing insights and advice!
A new way to think about email
Historically, email marketing was about blasting messages to your database and hoping they’d get a response. That’s no longer the case. Now, you can use email to nurture and convert leads into customers and better understand your audience.
There are a few key trends that we think will continue to shape email marketing in 2024. Here are some of our predictions:
- Instead of sending emails immediately after someone subscribes, you start sending them emails days or weeks later. You know what they want before they even ask for it, so you can offer them the latest deals or discounts to keep them engaged with your brand.
- Automation tools will become more user-friendly. With AI and machine learning, we’ll be able to target people easier and understand who is most receptive to our messages and who is not and why that is.
- You’ll be able to track the effectiveness of your emails by analyzing open rates, engagement rates, click rates, unsubscribe rates, etc.
Why email is more successful than ever
One of the most significant developments in email marketing is the increase in mobile usage. According to a study by the Radicati Group, around 84% of all U.S. adults own a smartphone, and 31% report checking their phone every 15 minutes or less! In fact, an estimated 67% of emails are opened on a mobile device.
With this in mind, it’s imperative that you take into account how your email looks on a mobile device when you design it.
Additionally, with the introduction of new technology like voice recognition and artificial intelligence (AI), we can expect to see more marketers using these features to enhance their campaigns.
For example, AI will make it easier for brands to personalize emails without having to manually enter information about their customer base. Voice recognition will allow them to connect with their customers through voice commands and natural language processing
How to stay ahead of the game
The future of email marketing is already here. As marketers, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to keep our clients engaged, informed, and coming back for more. The best way to stay ahead of the game is by doing your research.
Keep up-to-date on the latest trends in the field, read articles about successful campaigns, and look at what other companies are doing to make sure you’re never out of the loop.
Every day it seems like there’s a new way to use email marketing to grow your business–and that’s because there is. It’s important to stay abreast of these changes so you can incorporate them into your strategy without hesitation or risk of being left behind.
The future of email marketing
There are many ways to use email marketing to your advantage and we’ve got some predictions on how it will change in the next five years.
- Digital assistants: You can already use Alexa or Google Home to manage your marketing efforts by setting up reminders, viewing your calendar, checking the weather, and more. These tools will continue to advance and integrate with your marketing strategy.
- Chatbots: Chatbots will allow you to provide a quicker response time to leads and potential customers who contact you via email by using artificial intelligence (AI). This way, you can respond to all queries without having an employee dedicated solely to responding.
- Personalization: Personalization is one of the best features of email marketing and it will only get better. As technology advances, we’ll be able to personalize emails even more with information like location and interests. You won’t have just one generic email for everyone anymore.
Examples of Successful Emails You Can Use Now
One of the most important trends for email marketing in 2026 is to be personal. It doesn’t matter what kind of business you have, you should be putting some thought into your subject line and crafting a message that resonates with your audience.
Here are some clever subject lines that we’ve seen:
1. “Hey, just checking in on how things are going”
2. “I’m not trying to sell you anything”
3. “Selling more than just books”
4. “Do you know who I am?”
5. “You might be too stuck on this idea”
Why email marketing is important
Email marketing is an excellent way to promote your business. Founded on the principle that people are more inclined to buy something when they’ve been persuaded by someone they know, email marketing allows you to reach out to potential prospects with messages tailored specifically for them.
What’s great about email marketing is that you can measure which messages have the most resonance with subscribers, so you can constantly refine your strategy and ensure you’re sending the best messages possible.
Email is also a highly efficient channel – it costs less than any other form of marketing and reaches many more potential customers than any other channel.
