The Doogee S88 Pro was created with an iron helmet design for enthusiasts in need of a smartphone that can resist extreme conditions. The Doogee S88 Pro’s chassis is similar to that of the majority of rugged smartphones that we have seen and the aesthetics of the design language have a military taste.
According to its IP68 classification, the Doogee S88 pro can withstand being submerged in 1.5 m of water for around two hours and in 1 m of water for nearly a day. It is designed to withstand high pressure and high-temperature sprays because it has an IP69K classification. Additionally, it can endure 4 hours at a -55°C severe temperature.
The Doogee S88 Pro is resilient enough to endure a 1.5 m drop onto a hard surface as well as a 2 m drop onto a flat surface. When looking at the chassis arrangement, you will see a front-facing camera housed in a drop notch on a 6.3-inch full HD + display. The screen resolution and pixel density of this display is 1080 x 2340 and 410, respectively.
When we flip this smartphone around to see the back, we see the before described iron man-themed arrangement. Two LEDs in the shape of eyeballs make up the majority of this design, simulating the eyes on the Iron Man helmet. These eye-shaped LED lights act as notification lights that raise awareness of notifications, so they are more than just decorative.
Three cameras, an LED flash, and the Doogee branding, which identifies the phone as a Doogee, are also located on the rear panel. We have programmable buttons on the side that can be set to perform three different actions: single click, double click, and long press. We also have a fingerprint sensor positioned on the side.
The Cameras
Even if the Doogee S88 Pro’s cameras aren’t the major attraction, the company still made an attempt to provide enthusiasts with a logical camera combination. A 21MP primary camera with a Sony IMX230 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP depth camera make up its rear camera system. Videos can be captured with this arrangement at a maximum frame rate of 4k.
This Android phone has a 16MP front-facing camera with a Samsung sensor for taking selfies. The aperture on this camera is f/2.0.
