We maximize both space and utility in their living rooms by reusing it to store seasonal apparel, organizing it with vacuum bags, and making sure it’s accessible when needed for travel.
For those who don’t have enough closet space or live in apartments, this is really useful. Simply pack away out-of-season apparel in your suitcase and replace it as the weather shifts.
Under the bed
Don’t ignore the space beneath the bed if you’re truly tight on the room. If adequately secured from dust, this area can be used to store smaller workout equipment like yoga mats and weights, as well as additional bedding and linens. You can store things on walls that you need to have quick access to frequently. Stylish hardware is a better option for wall storage than stick-on hooks when it comes to aesthetics.
Under the Stairs
If your home has a place under the stairs, you may not give it much thought. We created a bespoke mudroom with hooks for jackets and umbrellas, a cabinet for storing shoes, and a drop zone for purses, bags, and backpacks. Cubbies brimming with hyacinth baskets, which we stuffed with warm-weather accessories like hats, scarves, and gloves, completed this area.
